Thanks to one of my wonderful friends and clients, Joe Donelan of Donelan Family Wines, this client comes as a referral along with so many others! This clients were about to begin a major renovation/addition to their home. The new addition would allow better access as well as the ability to expand an existing cellar space. The client’s dream of a new entertaining cellar was about to begin. Evaluating existing construction conditions as well as the existing home mechanical and plumbing systems, two unique areas were created. Stepping down into the entry and adjacent to it are display shelves containing bottle memories of wines consumed along with a burl-wood topped tasting table area. Across is the main storage area which contains a center island display with rare finds along with large format bottles. The existing step in the foundation led way to a down-lit large format display below the cantilevered base. Refrigeration is via our WineSmart ducted split air handler systems through linear diffuser for the air distribution with a remote outdoor condensing unit. This system sends data to the Internet 24/7 allowing for real-time monitoring. A special chandelier in the tasting area along with recessed down lights and low-voltage up and down lighting create a warm wonderful environment.
