West Harrison, New York

This was a very fun project for a repeat client who decided to upgrade to a larger home in the same town. I was presented with a very large semi-finished basement and was asked to create a comfortable space that was conducive of reading and wine tasting. The design included a 4,000 bottle wine cellar that has an insulated glass entry wall to display both bottles and magnums of the clients favorite wines and would also have the ability to store wooden cases hidden in the back corners to utilize what would ordinarily be dead space. Note that there is no visible hardware on the two end doors. Electronic locks with mortised pivot hinges secure the doors. The balance of the project included a full wet-bar with granite counters, a copper sink, clear ice maker, refrigerator, liquor storage and hidden glass shelves behind the panels flanking the flat screen monitor. The room was fitted with base cabinets, bookshelves, drink rails and wainscot panels to match all of the Honduran Mahogany used to build out this room.
